Medieval Tower of Vilharigues

The region of Vouzela, apart from a rich natural heritage, has 3 medieval towers in the villages of Alcofra, Cambra and Vilharigues. The Medieval Tower of Vilharigues has been recently converted in a museum.

The inauguration of the Medieval Tower of Vilharigues took place on July 3rd. This tower was built in in the end of the 13th century, integrated in the defence system of the lands of Lafões that comprised several scattered manor towers along the region.

The Medieval Tower of Vilharigues has a quadrangular plan and it was built upon a podium.
