The Biological Park of Lousã Mountain, only 25 minutes away from Coimbra and nearby the Schist Villages, is a unique zoo that privileges national fauna and flora, exhibiting rare Portuguese species in a protected environment, as close to their natural habitat as possible. These species are either domestic or wild, some of them already extinct in national territory, such as bears, moufflons and lynxes.
The Biological Park of Lousã Mountain also includes a learning farm with house pets of national breeds, a riding centre, Portugal wild animals, a fruit tree labyrinth, absolutely unique in the world, an eco-museum, a cooperage museum, a living museum of traditional arts & crafts, a shop and a restaurant.
